Remember 90% Of Everything You Learn

Whether you’re learning Spanish, a new instrument, or a new sport, we could all benefit from accelerated learning. But the problem is, there’s only so much time in the day.

The key to accelerated learning is not just putting in more hours, but maximizing the effectiveness of the time spent learning.

The Bucket And Water Analogy
Let’s say you were to fill up a bucket with water. Most buckets should not have any problem retaining the water inside, until it starts overflowing at the top.

But in reality, this isn’t how our brains function. In fact, most of the information that enters our brain leaks out eventually. Instead of looking at our brain’s memory as a bucket that retains everything, we should treat it for what it is: a leaking bucket.

While the leaky bucket analogy may sound like a negative connotation, it’s perfectly normal. Unless you were born with a photographic memory, our brains weren’t designed to remember every fact, information, or experience that we go through in our lives.

As research shows, it turns out that humans remember:

5% of what they learn when they’ve learned from a lecture (i.e. university/college lectures)
10% of what they learn when they’ve learned from reading (i.e. books, articles)
20% of what they learn from audio-visual (i.e. apps, videos)
30% of what they learn when they see a demonstration
50% of what they learn when engaged in a group discussion.
75% of what they learn when they practice what they learned.
90% of what they learn when they use immediately (or teach others)

Books, classroom lectures, videos — non-interactive learning methods that results in 80-95% of information going in one ear and leaking out the other.

The point here is that instead of forcing our brains on how to remember more information with “passive” methods, we should focus our time, energy, and resources on “participatory” methods that have proven to deliver more effective results, in less time.

This means that:

If you want to learn how to speak a foreign language, you should focus on speaking with native speakers and gain immediate feedback (instead of mobile apps)
If you want to get in shape, you should work with a personal fitness trainer (instead of watching Youtube workout videos)
If you want to learn a new instrument, hire a local music teacher in your city.

The ability to retain more knowledge in an age of infinite access to information and countless distractions is a powerful skill to achieve any goal we have faster.

By learning how to remember more information everyday, we can spend less time re-learning old knowledge, and focus on acquiring new ones.

These are just some of the information that I’ve gained while surfing through the web. Till then! Adios ;)

Things Successful People Do Every Day to Stay Productive

Successful people like entrepreneurs, top politicians, and other thought leaders have figured out how they should manage their time to achieve what they set out to do.

So how do you move forward on your goals? Read on to learn what successful people do every day to stay productive.

1. They love what they do
Do you think people like Mark Zuckerberg, Hillary Clinton or Elon Musk would be where they are today if they didn’t truly enjoy what they do?

Probably not.

It’s incredibly hard to push through if all you can think about is how boring or meaningless a task is.

2. They wake up early
People who’re productive tend to get up early in the morning. Take Benjamin Franklin, Richard Branson, or Barack Obama. They all had or have a habit of rising early.

It’s evident that getting up in the wee hours is good for your productivity. The reason is simple: you usually have more energy and self-control right after you wake up.

But how do you ensure a productive morning?

Easy, develop a morning routine.

This could be a quick 15-minute exercise session. Or it could simply be a shower, stretching or a cup of coffee.

3. They work less, not more
In this day and age, business is a badge of honor. The busier you are, the better.

While it might intuitively feel like you get more done if you work more, the reverse is true. You get more done by working less.
According to a famous study by K. A. Erickson, elite performers rarely work for more than 4.5 hours a day.

They batch their tasks into 90-minute sessions. Between these sessions, they have 20-30-minute pauses. This way, they can focus solely on the task at hand, instead of becoming tired and unfocused.

So start tracking the amount of time you spend on your tasks. Start with your most important work in the morning, work in sessions and leave all tasks that don’t require much willpower or focus to the afternoon.In this day and age, business is a badge of honor. The busier you are, the better.

While it might intuitively feel like you get more done if you work more, the reverse is true. You get more done by working less.

4. They take care of themselves
In the same sense that we glorify business, we tend to assume that successful people don’t take care of themselves.

But the opposite is true!

One of the main reasons successful people are so productive is that they take care of themselves. They know that the key to productivity and success is to keep everything from your health to your finances in check.

For example, exercise has a massive impact on your productivity and financial stress makes it almost impossible to function in a productive way.

So make sure to first take care of yourself and only then focus on being productive and successful.

Hope these tips will you guys in being a succesfull person :) Till’ then!

Ways To Create A Powerfully Productive Mind

A mind that is overwhelmed cannot effectively take anything new on. Creating a powerful mind capable of focus and productivity starts with taking back control of everything entering it.

Here are some of the tactics that I have read that you can implement to dramatically boost your minds ability to focus and fend off procrastination

1. Control your Physical Clutter
How does your environment look around you? Is it organized or chaotic with items scattered all over your desk or bedroom? Our physical worlds tend to be a reflection of our mental worlds. You may wonder how this matters in being more productive, but a messy physical world actually draws energy from our mind. Energy and focus we could be using towards more meaningful things… If our room is a mess or the kitchen needs to be tidied, every-time we see this it will draw energy as we’re reminded of what we need to do.

2. Control your Virtual Clutter
How many notifications are on your phone right now? Better yet, how many unread emails are in your inbox? A few years back I reached a point where I had several thousand unread emails in my inbox. It was to the point where even just opening my inbox made me instantly feel overwhelmed. Much like physical clutter, virtual clutter is a VERY real thing and can cause us to expend tons of unnecessary energy each day.

What can we do about it?

Unsubscribe to emails you don’t find any value in, ask to be taken off email chains that you don’t need to directly respond too and really decrease the amount of email coming in. Once done, I highly recommend practicing inbox zero to really optimize your time spent there. Social media can also be a huge energy drainer with the amount of negativity that seems to be rampant on it recently. Clean it up just like your email. Be relentless, your mental energy and state is yours to protect. Un-follow people who post things that you find are taking you find are negatively impacting your mindset.

The more of this energy we take back the more we can use it towards important things

3. Become unafraid of saying NO
If you find yourself in the state we described above, of constantly feeling overwhelmed and busy you should probably be saying no more often then you say yes. Think about it, if we are already procrastinating and behind on things, how will saying yes to taking on more items or event invitations possibly make that any better? Many people (including myself at a time) are afraid to say no to people, don’t be..

Diferrent people have different ways of doing things, these are jst some of the examples of the ways you can do things. Till’ next time! Adios ;)

How To Get Yourself Highly Motivated All the Time By Using This Golden Rule

The main reason for this is that anything truly worth accomplishing is difficult to achieve, meaning that you are likely to endure hardship and setbacks along the way. Let’s say that you start a specific diet, for example, and showcase incredible enthusiasm in the first few weeks. As the excitement begins to fade and the realities of a stringent diet take hold, however, it is easy to lose motivation and lose sight of your long-term goal.

The Goldilocks rule: What is it and how does it manifest itself?
While hardship and setbacks can impact on your level of motivation, so too can the nature of the goal itself. This is something that can often be overlooked when you learn how to motivate yourself, despite the fact that studies have consistently found that the establishing goals of manageable difficulty is central to remaining focused. This is commonly referred to as the ‘Goldilocks Rule’, which stipulates that our ability to stay motivated will falter when pursuing goals that are outside of an optimal range of difficulty.

To explain this further, let’s continue with the example of starting a diet. Within a short space of time, you may find yourself losing weight and approaching the initial goal that you set. As the pace of your progress slows and the difficulty eases, you are likely to find your motivation wane accordingly. Similarly, those who have a huge amount of weight to lose to achieve their goal will struggle to remain motivated from the outset, as the scale of their task makes it seemingly impossible.

The Goldilocks rule applies to the pursuit of every goal, even in instances where you must also consult your values and morals. We have seen a huge rise in the number of academic essay writing tools, for example, which allow students to outsource their dissertations and coursework requirements. The popularisation of essay writing services can be largely attributed to the principle of the Goldilocks rule, as students tend to outsource simple pieces that they deem non-challenging or complex and crucial posts that are exceptionally difficult to complete within the given time-frame.

Following the Goldilocks Rule also enables you to unlock another motivational key, which lies in the measurement of your progress and development as an individuals. It is through the accomplishment of manageable challenges that we are able to achieve happiness, for example, as they provide us with an opportunity to make progress in life and experience the diverse benefits of this. If we are able to measure our success and personal development on a regular basis, we can achieve a positive mental flow that enables us to embrace challenges, drive consistent performance and achieve our goals over a concerted period of time ;)

Till’ Then, see ya!

Simple Steps to Get Motivated When You’re in A Rut

Even the most motivated people in the world can lack motivation at times. And sometimes we can get into such a rut that even thinking about positive changes is too much to ask. But what if I told you it’s not hopeless? What if I told you there were proven steps, backed up by science that could help you overcome procrastination and make positive progress in your life. Well, in this post I will do exactly that.

What most people don’t understand about motivation is that it is a process. Just like learning the guitar, it takes time, repetition and discipline. The good news is that anybody… Even people with crippling self-doubt and laziness, can stop procrastinating and overcome their lack of motivation to reach their goals. Many of us feel overwhelmed, apathetic, or just plain lazy at times. The good news is that many of the most successful people in the world have found themselves in a similar situation and bounced back. Did you know that there was a time when even the great Tony Robbins was 30 pounds overweight and spending his days watching soap operas continuously?

Exactly… It’s never too late to become the person you could of been.

I’m going to help you make these positive changes in your life by showing you how to harness your own motivation to get things done. By the end of these 5 simple steps you will have the tools to overcome any barrier to motivation.

1. Get Clear On One Goal
Whenever I’ve found myself in a slump I’ve realized it’s because I am overwhelmed; I’m trying to do too much at once. This not only drains my focus and willpower but creates procrastination urges. It’s critical that you focus on one goal, the one action the you’ve been putting off; but if you followed through with, would change your quality of life drastically.

2. Get Leverage
Leverage is quite simply the fuel behind your motivation, it’s your “why”. Humans are wired to avoid pain and move towards pleasure. This is why you can have dozens of delicious gin and tonics and then as soon as you drink too many and become sick, you never drink it again. Whenever we are trying to get motivated for change, we are experiencing short term pain in order to gain long term change that increases our quality of life.

And Lastly,

3. Set Up Your Routine To Success
Whenever setting goals it’s important to realize that there are forces other than motivation at work. Below is the habit cycle, by breaking down your daily actions into this loop you will be able to make the cycle work in your favor, rather than it trapping you to your current habits. It’s important to note that routines in the loop don’t have to be big to reinforce it, start small. Once the habit is formed it’s much easier to increase the action.

Hope some if these tips can help you readers! Till’ then :)

Things to Do to Start Being Happy Today

Good Day everyone! It is such a wonderful evening, I’m going to share with you guys some of the tips on the things that you should do to start being happy!

Happiness can seem fleeting and momentary at times. What is it that happy people do differently? Happy people developed a habit of being and only doing those things that bring them happiness. Here are 11 things that happy people frequently do to bring happiness into their lives. And these are things you can start doing today.

1. Decide to Be Happy.
Happiness really is a choice you have to make. Many of us get it wrong: We think that happiness is a byproduct of success, be it a high-paying job, a successful business, raising a family, or achieving a goal.

Yet, dissatisfaction and sadness often keep us from doing the things we want. We lack the enthusiasm and the vigor to do those things in the first place that we think will ultimately bring us happiness. I want to challenge your thinking a bit, and turn it around

2. Practice Gratitude Daily.
When you start practicing gratitude, you re-frame your perception of the world. Whereas in the past, we tend to look at opportunities and resources as scarce, practicing gratitude helps us see limitless abundance. By being grateful for the here and the now–even in the absence of the very thing you desire–you put yourself in harmony with the good that you desire. In other words you, start moving towards what you want.

Did you know that you cannot get to your desires and your dreams from where you currently are? You have to first come from the place of your dreams. You have to first believe in it in order to see it. Gratitude gets you believing it so that one day you will see it. Spend a few minutes in the morning, afternoon, and just before you go to bed, writing out 5 things each time for which you are grateful.

3. Practice Affirmations Daily.
Affirmations are simply positive, proactive statements you say to yourself. After all, how is this different than the negative mind-speak that occupies most of our inner dialogue?

Personally, I’d rather hear the recording of my brain tell me why I can do something instead of why I cannot. These statements can be something as simple as…

I am deserving of success and a good life.
I enjoy exercising and eating healthy foods.
I release [insert name of someone who really bugs you here] to his/her higher good and me to mine.

What’s important when saying these affirmations is repetition. We learn through repetition. Also, be emotionally vested when you compose your own affirmations and recite them. They should make you happy, excited, passionate, appreciative, blissful, and in general feel good. Hence, the name AFFIRMations!

Till’ next time! ;)

3 Ways to Build a Happy and Productive Team

Hi everyone! Here I go again with more new tips on guiding your life into a whole new way. The topic for today is building a happy and productive team.

Whether you’re leading a small team or a large enterprise, there are practical methods for keeping your team happy while still meeting management’s targets. Here are three tips to building happy and productive teams.

Be a Better Communicator.
If you’re not able to articulate what it is that you want people to do, they’re not going to be able to do it. That’s obvious. What may not be so clear is that by being a poor communicator you’re corrupting the bonds of trust between you and your workers, which over time will create a toxic work environment.

How do you communicate more effectively and, in so doing, help make a happier team?

Listen- a lot.
Communication is a two-way street. Put aside your own thoughts and ideas to really listen to people on your team and demonstrate that you’re willing to seriously engage their ideas. You can show that you’re listening (and remember what your team has said) by repeating back what you’ve heard them say.
Stay on topic.
When you’re doing the talking, don’t confuse the issue by going off on tangents. Have one conversation at a time, and keep your point short and easily digestible.
Look people in the eye.
This may seem like an outmoded idea since we all stare at our phones and multitask these days. Eye contact helps you and the listener focus on the topic at hand, and it also shows you’re focusing on listening to feedback and ideas.
Ask Questions.
Before you’re done with a meeting or a conference, ask if there are any questions. This helps make sure the information you wanted to get across was conveyed accurately and helps with overall team engagement, too.
Build team involvement.
Making your team accountable is a good start, but make them part of the process to define the goals, too. This helps them buy-in to the work, gives them ownership, and makes them fully aware of what they’re accountable for.

Respect Workers’ Autonomy.
If you micromanage every nanosecond of your team members’ day, you’re really not helping their productivity. You’re certainly not creating a happy workplace. That doesn’t mean you give workers free reign; you are their manager, after all. However, you do want to instill mutual respect, and that involves giving your team autonomy to manage their time their way.

One of the biggest culprits of time wasting is the internet. With the web just waiting behind that spreadsheet, it’s a big temptation to check Facebook or your favorite blog, and as I said, a prohibitive climate is not a productive one. In fact, micromanagement may be more detrimental to productivity than a few idle moments online.

Of course it’s difficult to be happy and harder still to promote a happy team culture especially within a large organization. Think of happiness as another line item on your budget. You have to make the investment in order to get the return.

Till’ next time! Bye :)

Make it a habit!

When it comes to being productive with your time and focusing your days on what really matters to you, there is a 5-minute habit that can have a significant affect on your life. It’s very simple: You must tell your time where to go.
Taking 5 minutes every day to write down your schedule for the next day can help you stay on track toward your goals, decrease time wasted on unimportant activities, and help you make sure you are spending your days doing what matters most to you. Writing down your schedule for the next day can help you stay on track toward your goals, decrease time wasted on unimportant activities, and help you make sure you are spending your days doing what matters most to you.
Here are some of the things you can practise and make it as your habit as it can really help you in life.

  • Set aside time to do something you love

Every day, plan some time to do something you love, even if it’s for just 5 minutes to start. When you take time to regularly do the things that light you up, your life will change and so will the people around you.

  •  Make sure you’re living your top priorities

Writing down your schedule can help you stay focused on what’s truly important in your life. As you write down your schedule, make sure you’re spending time on your top priorities. If you notice that month after month, you’re neglecting what’s important and filling your schedule with junk, it’s time to re-evaluate yourself. By consistently writing down your schedule, if you discover that you’re not living your top priorities, dig deep and be really honest with yourself about what your priorities are, and re-evaluate your life and schedule so you can truly live your priorities.

  •  Include a small step toward a big goal on your daily schedule

In order to make regular progress toward your big goals, commit to taking a small action step every day. Each day, write out the action step you will take the next day to move yourself closer to your dreams.
I hope these time-management strategies help you as much as they’ve helped me. Writing down your schedule is a very simple exercise, yet it can be life-changing. When you tell your time where to go, it helps you focus your life on what truly matters to you. This will enable you to live a more fulfilling life. As you develop the habit of writing down your schedule, I’d love to hear how your life changes as a result. Writing down your schedule is a very simple, yet amazingly beneficial, life hack.
Make these as your habit, as it can really really help you get your life run smoothly! Till' next time!

Things That You Should Do Before Reaching 20!

Hi everyone! Tips for today is some of the things that you should do before reaching 20 or what you should've done when you were 20.

  •  Respect your need for sleep by getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep each day

Cutting out sleep to have more fun or get more work done is a short sighted strategy. While you can pull off this strategy in your 20s to a degree, it is a destructive habit to form.
Being tired all day means that you will be able to make effective use of your time, no matter how organized you are. So make it a habit of getting those legitimate seven to eight hours each night.

  •  Do a weekly review of the past 7 days

To get started with a weekly review, go through the following steps:
– First, review your calendar for the past week and the current week – look for loose ends, meetings and other matters that need further attention.
– Second, review your email inbox (personal and company email accounts) and achieve inbox zero.
– Third, review your goals for the year and make plans to work on them in the coming week.

This practice will help you to better plan your schedule and avoid nasty surprises.

  • Plan to achieve four hours of real work per day

Did you know that project managers often assume people will be less than 100% productive per day? It’s true! You may have a standard eight hour work day but the reality is that only half of that day is likely to be highly productive.
The rest of the day will be taken up with meetings, responding to email, browsing the Internet and related activities.
Tip: Schedule your most important, high value tasks in the morning, before you get tired.

  • Focus on a single task at a time (i.e. no multitasking!)

Multitasking is a wasteful way to work. Instead, you will achieve more if you choose one activity at a time. For example, allocate one hour in the morning to work on a proposal for a client, then give yourself a short break.

  • Separate strategic and “brain dead” tasks

High value strategic tasks are what companies and clients pay for – coming up with new product ideas, ways to reduce cost and other improvements. However, it is difficult to deliver creative insights all day long.
When the last hour of the day arrives and you’re tired, work through “brain dead” tasks like installing security updates or tossing out old papers.

These are some the things that I personally recommend to you guys in order to have a healthy and not-so-stressed lifestyle. Hope you enjoyed reading, Till' next time!

The Things You Should Do When You're Still Young!

Hi everyone! How are you guys doing today? I hope my readers is as fit as a fiddle! Today I am going to share with you on the things you guys should do before reaching your 20's or things that you should have done when you still young. Hehe, so here goes  :

One of the things that you should so is to travel. Before kids, and mortgages and marriages, when our commitments and expenses were lower, the opportunities for travel were much greater, but for some reason many of us thought we’d always have time for travel later. We dreamed of visiting the pyramids of Egypt, surfing off the Hawaiian coast, dining at a Parisian café, drinking espresso in Rome, trekking through the rainforest, and so much more. Sadly, many of us never made these journeys and the opportunity passed us by.
In order to invest in our retirement or save for that down payment, we would have needed to make wiser financial spending choices. Things like buying or holding on to that perfectly reliable used car, instead of splurging on the new model…because we could, eating out less and saving for a house instead, buying fewer shoes and purses and clothes and paying off student loans sooner. So many saving opportunities lost, money spent on tangible things, instead of on the future.
I regret not focusing more on where I wanted to go in life, what I wanted to do, who I wanted to be and what it would take to get there. With some more planning in our twenties, we’d be further ahead in our 40s and perhaps a bit happier as well.
I wish I had learned to ski and paint, speak Italian and do the Tango. I regret not living somewhere else before settling down. Others have said they regret not pursuing their hobbies or learning to sky dive or mountain climb. I prefer to stay on the ground, but I do regret not learning more, not trying new things that are hard to fit into the life of a fortysomething working wife and mother.
The bodies of youth are wasted on the young… I wish I had run a marathon before my knees ached, that I had biked more, hiked more, and took spinning classes when my legs were stronger. I regret not joining a softball team or volleyball league. We don’t often realize that we have squandered our physical abilities until things start aching and creaking.
I regret not reaching out more, putting more effort into creating a tribe of support that would carry me through more difficult times. We socialize sure, but many of us don’t put enough importance on building deep and lasting friendships. Some do, many don’t and wish they had.
Life is good; don’t misunderstand. Few of us walk around every day pining for our youth, at least I hope not, but we do occasionally look back with a wistful sigh and wish that we planned more, lived more, and stretched ourselves more when we had the freedom and energy to do so.
Till' next time! See ya!

Keeping yourself together ✌

Greeting readers!
Its been such a long time since I've last updated my blog, now here I am ready to keep you guys updated with my daily life as university student. Life has been so much hectic when I am entering the 4th semester of my diploma year. The most most important thing in order to overcome the hectic situations like having too much assignments and can't meet the deadline can be solved by being organized. Organizing is very important especially when you are still a student this is also pointed to those who are working. By organizing these are the examples of  the most important things in keeping yourself organized :-

✔ Writing things down
     - the saying goes nobody's perfect. not everyone remember every little things that they need to do or                   accomplish in a day. Therefore by writing things down, it can make your life more organized as it can              remind you on what to do next.

Make schedules and deadlines
     -  Schedules is one of the most important things that you should be starting off with. They recognize that            keeping things organized goes hand-in hand with staying productive. Remember to set deadlines and              goals. Those people who have the habit of staying organize usually don't waste their time. By having              schedules, don't forget to stick to the schedule or else there's no point of you making schedules in the             first place.

Don't Procrastinate
     - Get rid of the task that you need to accomplish as soon as possible. The longer you defer onto doing            your tasks, the more difficult it will be to get it done. This can prevent you from being stressful and being        less demanding. remember, to put your 100% effort to get things done as soon as possible so that you         won't feel the weight on your shoulder.

Declutter Regularly

-Find time each week to organize. Highly organized people make sure they find time every week, or more, to organize there things. Stuff does not stay organized on its own; it needs to be reorganized continuously and consistently.

Keep Only What You Need

-More stuff means more clutter. People who live organized lives only keep what they need and what they really really want. Having fewer things also means that you enjoy those things more and feel better about using everything you own, rather than letting half of what you own collect dust.

To sum it all up, there are a lot of things that you can do yourself to keep your life organized. This will definitely turns you into a whole new person if you can get your things more organized, it can also decrease the stress level compare to your past if you were having such a stressful daily life. All of this is also as a reminder to myself, adleena please be more organized and don't be lazy. If you are interested on reading the whole article on how to organize you life, click here.
